The opportunity

Unlike traditional engineering management roles that focus primarily on execution, this position combines technical vision with people leadership at the cutting edge of AI and commerce. You'll:

• Partner with our founder and Chief Architect to shape technical vision, strategy, and architecture
• Build and scale our engineering organization through exceptional hiring and talent development
• Drive adoption of the 10x operator model and AI-augmented development practices
• Lead engineering execution across our platform while ensuring quality and predictability
• Influence product strategy through technical expertise and deep understanding of possibilities

We've reimagined tech compensation for elite talent. Unlike traditional tech compensation heavily weighted toward RSUs or illiquid equity, we provide substantial immediate wealth creation through monthly cash payments.

Foundation:

• Base: $240,000 - $300,000
• Equity: 0.5% - 0.75%
• Partners Program: Substantial monthly profit-sharing bonuses

What we're looking for

Technical vision and strategy:

• Track record of developing technical strategies that drive business outcomes
• Experience architecting complex systems that balance innovation with reliability
• Ability to translate business objectives into technical vision
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture and patterns
• Experience guiding product decisions through technical expertise
• Proven track record of building and scaling engineering teams
• Strong recruiting, interviewing, and talent evaluation skills
• Experience providing meaningful feedback and performance management
• History of mentoring engineers and developing technical talent
• Ability to foster cultures of innovation and excellence

Strategic impact mindset:

• Focus on creating systems rather than just solving problems
• Experience driving multiplication effects through leverage and automation
• Track record of implementing AI/ML in production systems
• Ability to balance long-term vision with short-term execution
• History of technical innovation that creates business impact

Required experience:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of engineering management experience
• Strong technical background with hands-on development expertise
• Experience hiring, developing, and leading engineering teams
• Track record of successfully delivering complex technical projects
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Deep understanding of modern software development practices

Nice to have:

• Experience bridging product and engineering organizations
• Background in AI/ML systems or AI-augmented development
• Experience leading distributed/remote engineering teams
• Track record of implementing engineering best practices
• Familiarity with e-commerce or marketplace products
