Job SummaryThe Director of Development for University Programs is responsible for leading fundraising efforts for a variety of University Initiatives, including Student Affairs and Student Success, the Library, Veteran and Military Affairs, Scholarship programs, and interdisciplinary centers and initiatives (including but not limited to the Center for Leadership, StartUp FIU, Fostering Panther Pride, FIU in DC program, etc.). Reports to the Assistant Vice President of Development and works in conjunction with the Vice President of Student Affairs and other respective units. The Director of Development serves as a frontline fundraiser whose primary responsibility is to identify, expand, diversify, and cultivate relationships with prospective and existing donors, to promote the culture of philanthropy and successfully close gifts.
ResponsibilitiesBachelor's degree and eight (8) years of experience in fundraising, sales, or related fields; OR twelve (12) years of experience in fundraising, sales, or related fields; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Desired QualificationsUnderstanding of fundraising principles and experience with donor cultivation and solicitation preferred.
