Opportunity
It's an exciting time to join The Salvation Army of Annapolis! As we embark upon a recently developed three-year strategic plan with an emphasis on expanding programs and services, we are actively moving forward on key initiatives that will strengthen our impact in the community. This Fall, we are launching a Feasibility Study for a new Social Services building, which will enhance our capacity to serve individuals and families in need. We are also preparing for the planned launch of the Red Shield Youth Center in 2026, which will provide after-school programming, mentorship, and a safe, supportive space for local youth. The Director of Development will play a pivotal role in garnering the resources to bring these initiatives to life while sustaining and advancing our current programs.
Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Commanding Officer and the indirect supervision of the Divisional Development Director, the Director of Development creates and oversees the implementation of a strategic approach to increase fundraising results through major gifts, annual Red Kettle Campaign, corporate donations, grant solicitation, direct mail, special events, community relations, volunteers and in-kind resources.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years of experience in a comprehensive development program with progressively responsible experience and demonstrated success or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CFRE preferred, not required.

Salary & Benefits
Compensation for the Director of Development includes a competitive salary commensurate with experience ($85,000-$90,000) and an excellent package of employee benefits which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement, professional development, leave and holidays.
