About the Role

The university is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Development for the College of Medicine. This pivotal role is focused on creating and implementing a dynamic development strategy that aligns with the College's mission. The successful candidate will lead major fundraising initiatives, provide strategic philanthropy guidance, and ensure effective donor engagement. The Director is expected to achieve substantial annual fundraising goals through identification and securing of major, principal, and planned gifts.

Collaboration with the Dean, faculty members, and university advancement colleagues is crucial, along with the management of a diverse prospect portfolio. The ideal applicant will have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, marketing, fundraising, or related fields, with a proven track record in relationship development.

Exceptional communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and proficiency in Microsoft applications are required. Flexibility in travel and work hours is essential. Preferred qualifications include a graduate degree, experience in higher education or healthcare fields, and expertise in principal gift fundraising. A strong network and proficiency in utilizing social media for relationship building with donors is highly desirable.
