The Opportunity

The Episcopal Academy is seeking a Director of Dance to lead our Middle and Upper School Dance programs. This is a dynamic opportunity for an educator and choreographer eager to contribute to a thriving Performing Arts program and a vibrant Athletics culture. The position is part-time, running annually from mid-November through mid-February, with the potential for additional work in the spring and summer, including through our summer programs.

This role includes:

  • Overseeing the dance budget
  • Collaborating with coaches and colleagues to choreograph for the winter concert
  • Guiding students through solo and group pieces
  • Partnering with theater designers and the broader Theater & Dance team to bring the vision of the program to life

Who You Are

There are many different paths that could lead to success in this role. We're looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about working with Middle and Upper School students
  • Skilled in a variety of dance styles, including ballet, tap, hip hop, and modern
  • Experienced in choreographing for diverse levels of experience
  • Collaborative and eager to work alongside coaches and designers
  • Excited to build upon an already strong dance program
  • Comfortable operating in both performing arts and athletic spaces
  • Experienced in musical theater (a plus, but not required)
