Overview

FTI is searching for a dynamic and driven Director of Business Development with a proven track record in identifying and qualifying new opportunities within the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Community (IC) in the cybersecurity sphere. As a pivotal member of our business development team, you will bring leadership, innovative thinking, and strategic insight to secure business opportunities. Your collaboration with capture teams, program management, and functional leaders will be essential in developing growth strategies, engaging customers, crafting win strategies, and producing proposals. Your success will be measured by your ability to meet and exceed company acquisition and financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and expand a robust pipeline of cybersecurity-related opportunities, utilizing your relationships, market knowledge, and understanding of mission priorities within the DoD.
  • Lead the search and acquisition of new business opportunities to support DoD Cyber Security initiatives.
  • Work closely with operational, technical, and functional leaders within FTI to align our internal strengths with the demands of external customers, offering distinctive and competitive solutions.
  • Guide prospective customers by showcasing technology solutions, architecture, capabilities, and potential acquisition strategies for early-stage opportunities, collaborating with internal teams to respond to requests for information (RFI), conduct market surveys, develop white papers, and prepare presentations and briefings.
  • Support bid/no bid decisions, develop proposal strategies, plan resources, and oversee capture execution.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of customer funding profiles, acquisition strategies, and emerging requirements to proactively position FTI for success.
  • Contribute to internal growth strategies, including strategic planning and market analysis relevant to the cybersecurity domain.
  • Encourage a culture of growth, accountability, and high performance within the business development team.
  • Prepare and deliver reports and briefs as necessary.
  • Travel as required by business needs.

Education/Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance; Top Secret (TS) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years in federal business development, with at least 5 years dedicated to cybersecurity programs.
  • Proven success in identifying, capturing, and securing complex cyber contracts, including new and recompete opportunities.
  • Familiarity with mission priorities, acquisition environments, and cyber operations within the DoD.
  • A technical or operational background in areas such as offensive cyber operations, cyber intelligence, cyber frameworks and infrastructure, defensive cyber tactics, or information assurance.
  • Experience managing business development pursuits across various contract types (FFP, T&M, cost-plus) and contract vehicles (IDIQs, GWACs, OTAs, SBIRs).
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect capabilities and investments with changing market trends and customer priorities.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a history of successful engagement with executive stakeholders, customers, and partners.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through capture processes and business growth initiatives.
