Job Requirements Take charge of the daily operations of SavOn Convenience Stores, Maple Leaf Markets, and the 4D tobacco distribution center by leading a team to deliver exceptional results. This hands-on role drives performance, optimizes efficiency, and ensures every location meets the highest standards for service and profitability. With a focus on teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence, you'll play a key role in keeping the convenience business thriving as part of Turning Stone Enterprises. What you will do as a Director of Convenience Operations:
  • Recommend and implement approved strategies to increase business profitability and improve the guest experience.
  • Oversee the financial success of all convenience locations and full P&L responsibility.
  • Work collaboratively with support departments (Marketing, IT, People & Culture, Finance, Legal, etc.) to improve operational effectiveness and bottom-line performance.
  • Actively engage team members in business success and communicates regularly and effectively with the team.
  • Establish and schedule frequent visits with each business location and establishes expert knowledge of staff, services and business environment.
  • Ensure every business unit operates in a safe and compliant manner; creates regular communications, training, audits and refreshers to ensure compliance with Oneida Nation Ordinances and other applicable regulations and policies, including alcohol and tobacco sales, fuel safety, food safety, gaming controls, among others.
  • Continuously monitor operations and provide direction to the operations staff to ensure that each location meets or exceeds expectations in the areas of cleanliness, customer service, labor management, efficiency, sales and profitability.
  • Oversee fueling and energy portfolio ensuring competitive pricing of offerings and working with suppliers to ensure that adequate supply is maintained.
  • Oversee tobacco programs to ensure competitive pricing and adequate supply to meet customer demand.
  • Oversee the development, innovation, and execution of foodservice programs and commissary offerings while prioritizing guest safety, market demands and opportunities, and operational efficiencies to ensure profitability.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance standards and measurement tools at all store locations and ensures regular evaluation and action plans to correct quality issues.
  • Ensure appropriate orientation and training of staff and develops internal accountability for achieving the organization's Service Standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the Retail Marketing Department to implement effective marketing campaigns and strategies; seeks out reciprocal opportunities with other Oneida Nation Enterprises' departments.
  • Ultimately responsible for all hiring, training, development, and ongoing coaching of convenience team members and ensure proper procedures are followed regarding team member coaching and counseling.

Work Experience To be successful as a Director of Convenience Operations, you'll need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field.
  • Ten (10) years overall experience in convenience store operations, preferably with a brand that offers a strong food program with at least 5 years in a management role overseeing multiple units. Consideration will be given to experience outside the typical convenience store industry but must include a strong fresh food program and gasoline service.
  • Demonstrated ability to stimulate store growth and maximize profitability; previous experience in budgeting and business analysis.
  • Excellent leadership skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license.
