Job Description :

The Director of Landscape Construction is responsible for the strategic oversight, operational leadership, and execution of all landscape construction projects at Gras Lawn. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The Director will lead a team of project managers, superintendents, and field crews, and will collaborate closely with clients, designers, subcontractors, and internal departments.

This individual must demonstrate strong leadership, technical expertise, project management proficiency, and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Construction Department.
  • Oversee recruitment, development, and performance management of all construction staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence.

Project Oversight

  • Manage all phases of landscape construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Resolve escalated issues involving schedules, staffing, subcontractors, or scope changes.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for clients on all construction-related matters.
  • Participate in client meetings, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction throughout project lifecycles.

Operational & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
  • Review and approve project estimates, bids, and change orders.
  • Monitor job costs and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain profitability.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead efforts to promote a safe work environment for all employees and subcontractors.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Design, Estimating, Procurement, and Maintenance departments to ensure smooth project transitions and cross-departmental alignment.
  • Participate in strategic planning and long-term growth initiatives for the company.

Work Environment:

  • Combination of office and field environments.
  • Regular site visits required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
