Position RequirementsTo qualify, you need a minimum of 10 years of construction project management experience and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. You should understand construction practices, building codes, laws, regulations, financial practices, accounting policies, and construction software systems. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills are essential. Responsibilities include managing the Project Management team, setting goals, ensuring contract accuracy, assisting with financial reporting and budget updates, participating in estimating processes, monitoring project start dates, managing workloads, ensuring compliance, fostering team communication, guiding subcontractor selection, resolving project issues, attending meetings, overseeing WIP reviews, contributing to strategic planning, strengthening client relationships, representing the company at public events, managing budgets, tracking financial performance, and forecasting expenses.
Your Day-to-Day as a Director of ConstructionIn this role, you'll oversee the Project Management Team within the site division, assign work, ensure staffing levels, set and track goals, verify contract documents, participate in estimating, manage project buyouts, prepare financial documents, and collaborate on budget monitoring. You'll conduct bi-weekly project reviews, promote team communication, mentor project managers, and influence project direction through onsite leadership.
Are You a Great Fit for the Director of Construction Role?Ideal candidates possess a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, or equivalent experience. You should have thorough knowledge of building codes, laws, regulations, financial practices, and computer programs. A minimum of 10 years of project management experience on multi-million dollar projects, including at least 2 years at a senior level, is required. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills are crucial for coordinating teams and fostering collaboration.
