Job Title: Director of Construction
Company Overview: a production homebuilder recognized for its commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction in the Dallas area. We are dedicated to crafting homes that meet the diverse needs of our customers and stand the test of time.
Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Director of Construction to lead and manage all aspects of our construction operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in production homebuilding and demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills. This role involves overseeing the construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of construction managers, project supervisors, and site personnel to achieve project objectives.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure all construction work meets company and industry standards.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations and company safety policies, promoting a safe work environment.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, controlling costs, and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Vendor & Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of services and materials.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, design, and finance teams to align construction activities with overall company objectives.
- Problem Resolution: Proactively identify potential issues and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management roles within the homebuilding industry, preferably in production homes.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple residential construction projects.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Dallas housing market and local building codes.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or similar certification is a plus.
