This position will be the primary point person in the operation, maintenance, and work with the events Smart Classroom A/V Specialist in the troubleshooting of theater lighting, audio, and staging.Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary liaison for all logistics and management of external events hosted on campus.Maintain and construct contracts with outside clientele for event bookings.Manage and operate the event budget.Coordinate all event logistics, including:Space reservationsMaintenance and cleaningCampus Safety coordinationTechnology supportCatering arrangementsHousing for off-campus groupsMaintain, operate, and troubleshoot theater lighting and staging equipment in collaboration with the Smart Classroom A/V Specialist.Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot the audio board and related audio equipment in collaboration with the Smart Classroom A/V Specialist.Assist with the room management system (Coursedog) and room reservation processes for internal groups and individuals.Collaborate with campus partners to address their event logistics, space, and technology needs.Supervise Welcome Desk staff.Assist with the management and planning of select internal events, such as:CommencementGalaTrue Blue WeekendPerform other related tasks as assigned.Job RequirementsEvent or theatre experience is required.Knowledge of basic and general audio-visual and computer systems, events set up and event management practices, lighting and sound board knowledge.Preferred skills include contract management, Coursedog, MyRec.Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive goals and deadlines and manage multiple tasks.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate activities productively with functions and units outside his/her area. Excellent writing and communication skills.Commitment to providing excellent customer service; problem solving, leadership and organizational skillsAbility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.Ability to lift 10-20 pounds and use stairs.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in the area of Business, Hospitality Management, or Organizational Leadership and one year of related experience in conference and event services or in the hospitality industry preferred; or four years of related experience.Compensation: $60,000 - $62,000This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
