Job Description

The Director of College & Career Counseling develops and manages a program ensuring students deepen their self-knowledge and aspirations, and build effective postsecondary plans. This role involves building relationships with school leadership, external organizations, and colleges to support student success. The goal is to integrate the counseling program into the high school's mission, supporting students academically, professionally, and personally. The ideal candidate is a motivated, collaborative leader who can coach counselors and oversee daily operations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, develop, and lead the College & Career Department, supporting staff through coaching, curriculum assessment, and goal setting.
  • Support college and career development for teachers and students, monitor data, and execute strategic improvements.
  • Lead programming and exposure activities, support students with application processes, and promote an inclusive team culture.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, track and report on postsecondary support metrics, and maintain communication with all relevant parties.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (required).
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with high school students and families in college counseling is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Leadership in diverse teams, resilience, data-driven decision-making, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and communicate effectively. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Additional Details

Physical requirements include prolonged sitting or standing, operating office machinery, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. The role requires working in a school schedule, with evening, holiday, and weekend work as needed. Travel to other campuses and for student visits is expected.
