Director of Business Support

JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with a nonprofit in search of a Director of Business Support to join its team! This nonprofit is located in Geneva, New York and provides day habilitation and residential services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Director of Business Support serves as a critical operational leader, responsible for overseeing administrative functions, human resources, and regulatory compliance within the organization. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position ensures alignment between internal operations and the broader mission, driving efficiency, accountability, and organizational growth.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead the Human Resources function, including recruitment, retention, talent development, and workplace policies.
- Supervise compliance and administrative support teams, ensuring collaboration and alignment with strategic goals.
- Provide oversight for vendor management, contracts, and operational systems.
Operations & Organizational Support
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
- Support financial and administrative systems in collaboration with finance leadership.
- Ensure sound governance structures and reporting processes.
HR Strategy
- Maintain HR policies and ensure legal compliance and equity in employment practices.
- Oversee benefits administration, performance management, and employee relations.
- Promote an inclusive, mission-driven workplace culture.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with New York State laws, OPWDD regulations, and Justice Center standards.
- Oversee Medicaid billing documentation and workforce credentialing.
- Lead internal audits, staff training, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Monitor changes in labor laws and regulatory requirements, adapting policies as needed.
Strategic Planning & Growth
- Partner with the Executive Director to support strategic initiatives and organizational sustainability.
- Drive operational improvements and change management.
- Identify cost-saving measures and process enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Background in financial oversight, project management, and compliance is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in financial management, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting, is crucial.
- Proven experience in HR, compliance, and nonprofit operations.
- Familiarity with compliance and reporting requirements for nonprofit organizations, especially in areas like grant reporting, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
- Strategic thinker with risk management and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in operational systems and team collaboration.
