Director of Business Development - South Carolina

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives in the Charleston-Columbia, SC region. This leadership role focuses on expanding our presence in the disaster recovery, water mitigation, fire mitigation, environmental cleanup, reconstruction, and insurance claims markets. The Director will be responsible for securing new business, strengthening industry relationships, and increasing revenue in both commercial and residential sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy: Develop and implement a regional business development strategy targeting disaster recovery, mold/fire/water remediation, environmental cleanup, and insurance-driven reconstruction projects. Identify new revenue streams in property management, insurance, municipal contracts, healthcare, and education. Monitor regional trends and regulations.
  • Client & Partner Development: Build relationships with insurance adjusters, property owners, facility managers, and restoration consultants. Attend industry events and represent the company in negotiations and partnerships.
  • Sales & Team Leadership: Lead the sales process from prospecting to closing, including proposals and contracts. Collaborate with estimators and project managers to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Maintain a CRM pipeline, report KPIs, revenue forecasts, and market insights to leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years in business development or sales within disaster recovery, restoration, or environmental remediation.
  • Knowledge of insurance claims, emergency response, and industry standards (IICRC, OSHA, EPA).
  • Strong network in the Carolinas' insurance and property sectors.
  • Proven success in securing high-value contracts and expanding regional markets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship skills.
  • Willing to relocate or based in Charleston or Columbia, SC, with travel as needed.
