Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Director of Business Development to lead and expand our client acquisition efforts through rigorous prospecting efforts. This senior sales role is pivotal in identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities that align with USIM's capabilities in both digital and traditional media.

As a critical member of the growth team, you will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and be responsible for building a robust sales pipeline, cultivating relationships with key decision-makers, driving revenue growth through strategic new business engagements, and collaborating effectively with internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive agency growth.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities across industries aligned with USIM's media and marketing expertise.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, from the lead generation through proposal development and contract negotiation.
  • Build and manage relationships with key contacts and potential prospects
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (media strategy, activation, analytics, creative, and executive leadership) to shape client-centric solutions, proposals and presentations.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the media and advertising landscape, with emphasis on both traditional and digital channels.
  • Represent USIM at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to elevate brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Forecast, track, and report on sales KPIs, using HubSpot and other sales enablement tools to maintain visibility into pipeline health.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitors, and client challenges to proactively adjust strategies and offerings.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of sales/business development experience in an advertising/media agency environment.
  • Proven track record of success in building pipelines and closing high-value deals.
  • Strong knowledge of both digital and traditional media channels (e.g., programmatic, social, search, TV, radio, print, out-of-home).
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align client needs with agency services.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to assess data against a client's needs to deliver on an opportunity
  • Proficiency in HubSpot and sales enablement tools including (but not limited to) Zoominfo, Winmo and LinkedIn Navigator.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, result-oriented environment.

  • Willingness to travel as required (meet with prospects in person, attend events and conferences)
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field (MBA a plus).
