Role and Responsibilities: The Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for the strategic implementation, coordination, and oversight of all Behavioral Health services. This role ensures the effective delivery of care through strong program management, supervision of departmental staff, and integration of behavioral health within the primary care setting. The Director leads quality assurance initiatives, maintains compliance with licensing, contractual, and regulatory standards, and fosters positive relationships with patients, staff, and community stakeholders. The Director plays a key leadership role in advancing the department's goals and ensuring services are accessible, evidence-based, and aligned with organization objectives. Program Management - Leads and manages an integrated continuum of behavioral health care services across disciplines.

- Assist with the development and expansion of services to address the evolving needs of patients and staff. Promotion behavioral health programs and services to the community.
- Participate in site visits, regulatory reviews, and preparedness activities.
- Represent the department in internal and external meetings to enhance partnerships and service delivery.
- Collaborate with leadership, compliance, and quality teams to develop performance measures, prepare for audits, implement process improvements, and fulfill reporting requirements.
Quality Management - Apply quality and process improvement methodologies to evaluate and enhance behavioral health services and workflow.
- Address patient grievances in alignment with agency grievance procedures.
- Oversee continued education preapproval and CEU event process in compliance with NBCC and LABSWE standards.
- Establishes quality benchmarks and develops policies/procedures to ensure service excellence.

- Conducts process evaluations to assess and improve departmental performance.
Supervision of Staff - Provide on-site and remote supervision of behavioral health staff across multiple locations.
- Oversee staff development, performance, and accountability through regular supervision and guidance.
- Reviews peer-reviewed patient charts and conduct quality assurance audits as needed.
- Resolve staff concerns and supports team morale and professional growth.
- Offers Board Approved Clinical Supervision to LMSWs per Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners standards.
Community Engagement - Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to support program expansions and strengthen referral networks.
- Oversee planning and participation in community events that promote mental well-being.
- Supports the promotion of Open Talks and other community CEU opportunities.
Reporting and Program Development - Analyzes and reports behavioral health data using spreadsheets and graphical summaries for committees and leadership.
- Prepares and submits required reports to grantees and funders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop program proposals to enhance or sustain funding.
- Contribute to strategic planning by offering insights, recommendations, and action plans to improve operations, productivity, and service delivery.
Communication & Administrative Support - Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exhibits effective time management, organizational skills, sound judgement, and self-motivation.
- Performs additional duties as needed to support administration and ensure continued compliance and high-quality patient care.
Required Education:
- Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners is required.
- A master's degree in social work or master's degree in counseling from an accredited institution is required.
- At least three (3) years of paid post-degree clinical experience providing mental health or substance use disorder services is preferred.
Skill, Licensure, and Knowledge Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing social services or public health programs preferred
- BLS for healthcare providers is required.
