Title: Director of Accounting

Salary Range: Starting at $140,000

*****The position is based full time (Mon-Fri)/on site at our Melville, NY headquarters. Candidates must reside within commuting distance to this location to be considered.

Summary:

The Director of Accounting will play a vital role in managing the financial operations of Always Compassionate Health. Working closely with the VP/Controller and finance team, he/she will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and maintain strong internal controls. The position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations in the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
• Support the development and maintenance of the annual budget and periodic forecasting. Collaborate with other departments to gather data, analyze variances, and provide financial insights for decision-making.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Analyze financial data, perform variance analysis, and prepare financial reports to highlight key performance indicators. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on the analysis.
• Participate in audits, both internal and external, and coordinate responses to audit inquiries. Ensure compliance with relevant financial reporting standards, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
• Manage Billings department; preserve the timeliness and accuracy guidelines in which the departments should be operating.
• Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance accuracy in financial reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Masters Degree preferred.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the healthcare industry or a similar field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance in the healthcare industry.
• Experience with corporate/payroll tax handling.
• Advanced skills in Excel, pivot tables, vlookups
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems. Experience with Workday Financial Management required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
