The Director of Accessibility Services provides overall leadership and management of the Center for Accessibility Services at Borough of Manhattan Community College. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs or their designee, the Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. This role includes developing and implementing policies and procedures to support students with disabilities, collaborating with campus partners to promote inclusive learning environments, and facilitating access to all college programs, services, and facilities. This Director will:
Qualifications: Minimum: Bachelors degree and eight years related experience required. Preferred: Masters degree in social work, student personnel administration, counseling, educational psychology, special education, higher education administration, health and recreation, or a related field preferred. At least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in higher education or rehabilitation agencies. Knowledge of providing services to college students in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and related policies. Must possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with attention to detail and proven leadership. Supervisory experience of professional staff preferred. Successful record of working with and implementing programs and services for students with disabilities within a diverse student population. Must be a creative, dynamic professional with strong judgment and the ability to work independently while providing courteous, accurate service to students, visitors, and the campus community. Strong organizational, problem-solving, project management, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt plans as needed, and make data-informed decisions. Proven ability to handle sensitive and complex matters with discretion, and a deep understanding of the diverse cultural, social, and educational needs of todays student population. Skilled at building and maintaining effective, collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, families, university colleagues, and community partners. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary range is $132,248 - $150,497; Salary commensurate with education and experience. CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
