Draeger Medical Systems, Inc., Telford, PA seeks a Director of North America Safety Operations. The role involves managing operational performance concerning product quality, cost, and delivery. Responsibilities include improving operational systems, processes, and policies related to information flow, reporting, business processes, and organizational planning to meet customer demands on time, with quality and within budget. The role requires utilizing SAP, AfO, MS Office, and SQL for data analysis and reporting. The director will lead change management and continuous improvement initiatives with a customer focus, collaborating closely with regional and global teams. Additionally, the role involves contributing to the development of the Global Supply Chain strategy and performance, planning and implementing regional operations business plans to meet organizational performance targets related to budget, costs, assets, production, and resource planning. The position also includes developing and enhancing Draeger's process organization in areas such as automation, scripting/PLC programming, technical drawing, testing, process implementation, verification, FMEA, and risk analysis. Experience working in a multi-stage chemical manufacturing and engineering environment, specifically in anesthesia filtering media production, is required. The director will monitor KPIs related to operations, including production, quality, labor efficiency, costs, rework, scrap, and delivery. They will perform diagnostics, testing, and manufacturing focused on continuous improvement and the successful implementation of Lean Manufacturing programs such as cellular manufacturing, TPM, SPC, Kaizen, Target Costing, Kanban, and process analysis. The role involves fostering a culture of operational excellence within the global supply chain by driving continuous improvement projects across engineering, quality, distribution, transportation, communication, and safety to maximize customer value. The director will support new product introductions, implementation of new production technologies, test systems, tools, and equipment, ensuring compliance with legal and internal regulations in chemical analysis manufacturing environments, including contamination-free manufacturing and high-speed nonwoven material production and packaging. International project team management, staff development, talent acquisition, and retention through mentoring and coaching are also key responsibilities. The role requires ensuring compliance with employment policies, demonstrating pragmatic leadership, managing cost-center and project budgets, and adhering to the Integrated Management System (IMS) while minimizing environmental impact. Travel of approximately 5% within the US and internationally for project and strategy meetings is expected.
