Job Summary

We seek a strategic and results-driven Director of Metering and Field Operations to lead electric metering services and field operations in Houston. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of metering services, manages workforce performance, and promotes operational excellence through innovation, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Director will oversee the deployment and integration of AMS 2.0, aligning operational goals with business strategies, and fostering workforce management, technology adoption, and customer service excellence.

Essential Functions

• Leadership & Strategy
• Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with corporate goals and regulations.
• Lead deployment of AMS 2.0, ensuring reliability and customer value.
• Align initiatives with grid modernization and digital transformation.
• Promote safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Operational Oversight
• Manage daily electric metering operations, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Oversee field operations such as outage response and service restoration.
• Ensure accurate meter data collection and system integration.

• Performance & Compliance
• Monitor KPIs and implement improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Lead audits and inspections.

• Technology & Innovation
• Promote adoption of advanced metering infrastructure and digital tools.
• Collaborate on system upgrades and data analytics.

• Stakeholder Engagement
• Engage with internal and external partners, regulatory agencies, and customers.
• Address escalated customer issues and represent the department in meetings.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; Master's preferred.

Experience

• At least 10 years in electric utility operations, with 5+ in leadership.
• Knowledge of electric metering, field operations, and regulations.
• Experience in operations, customer service, and analytics.
• Proven leadership of large teams and complex environments.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
• Experience with AMI systems, GIS, OMS, and work management platforms is desirable.
