POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, IT Transformation – Portfolio and Project Management is a key transformation leader within Catholic Health's Information Technology organization. This role is responsible for overseeing a team of portfolio managers and project managers, with a mandate to modernize and optimize IT portfolio execution using Agile methodologies and enterprise-wide best practices.
Reporting to the AVP of IT Strategy and Operations, the Director drives Catholic Health's IT strategic execution through portfolio governance, resource planning, project delivery excellence, and Agile Transformation. This leader will serve as a bridge between strategic vision and tactical delivery, ensuring that IT investments align with business priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.
Job DetailsStrategic Leadership & Portfolio Transformation
- Lead the transformation of traditional project management into a value-driven, Agile portfolio delivery model.
- Oversee the management of portfolio managers and project managers across all Catholic Health IT initiatives.
- Align project and program execution with Catholic Health's strategic goals, prioritizing business value, risk mitigation, and speed-to-delivery.
- Partner with IT and business leaders to define, communicate, and execute multi-year IT investment roadmaps.
- Champion Agile and Lean portfolio management practices and implement scalable governance structures.
PMO Management & Delivery Oversight
- Establish and evolve a high-performing PMO that delivers enterprise programs across infrastructure, clinical, revenue cycle, and administrative domains.
- Direct the implementation and continuous improvement of project management methodologies (Agile, Kanban, Hybrid)
- Provide oversight of the enterprise IT project portfolio, including reporting, KPIs, and delivery assurance.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment, stakeholder engagement, and project interdependency management.
- Drive consistent project delivery practices and maturity across the organization.
People Leadership
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of delivery specialists (portfolio managers, program managers, and project managers).
- Define career paths, performance expectations, and professional development strategies.
- Cultivate a culture of accountability, transparency, and innovation.
Financial & Operational Management
- Support IT portfolio budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
- Track financial performance across the portfolio and optimize resource utilization.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies through improved tooling, reporting, and standardization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- One or more of the following certifications required - PMP, SAFe, or Agile certification
- Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role managing a PMO or portfolio team.
- Proven success in leading enterprise-scale transformation initiatives and Agile portfolio delivery.
- Experience working in a Big 5 consulting firm (e.g., Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, Accenture) is strongly preferred.
- Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
- Expertise in project management tools, Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban), and enterprise PMO operations.
- Strong skills in Microsoft suite of products.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate effectively with executives, business leaders, and technical teams.

Salary RangeUSD $200,000.00 - USD $250,000.00 /Yr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
