The Director, Integrated Marketing is the connective tissue of our marketing organization - owning the marketing brief process, ensuring clear communication of priorities, and driving cohesive, customer-centric messaging across every marketing channel, online, and in retail stores reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer. In close partnership with the CMO and cross-functional leaders, this role translates brand strategy into short- and long-term integrated marketing plans that connect digital, retail, and brand storytelling. This role is primarily based in our Greenpoint office. About the role Essential Functions:
- Build and develop marketing plans / seasonal strategies with team leads that support key business goals and initiatives across the brand - both digitally and in retail stores.
- Develop innovative ideas and concepts that set J.McLaughlin apart in the marketplace and help build brand awareness and enhance brand perception among target and prospective customer audiences.
- Partner and collaborate across Digital, Paid Media, Print, Retail, Creative, PR, Organic Social, Customer Insights, Customer Service, Merchandising, and Finance to execute all initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Own the 360° Marketing Brief Process: Develop clear, insight-driven briefs that align creative, retail, digital, and channel marketing teams around seasonal and always-on priorities.
- Lead Integrated Campaign Planning: Build and manage the annual and seasonal marketing calendar to ensure cohesive storytelling across paid, owned, and earned channels.
- Ensure Cross-Channel Alignment: Partner with merchandising, retail, digital, creative, and channel marketing leads to ensure messaging is consistent and impactful in every customer touchpoint.
- Drive Strategic Storytelling: Translate key products, brand moments, and seasonal narratives into compelling, customer-relevant campaigns.
- Own the Retail & Digital Presentation of Campaigns: Develop the retail marketing plan in partnership with store teams and ensure campaigns are visually and experientially consistent across in-store environments and our digital site, aligning creative execution to the seasonal narrative.
- Measure & Optimize: Partner with analytics to evaluate campaign performance and evolve strategies for awareness, acquisition, retention, and sales growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the central hub connecting brand message across Growth Marketing, Creative, Retail Ops, PR, Social, and Merchandising.
- Oversee Campaign Execution: Ensure timely delivery of all assets, both in-store and online, and that every initiative ladders back to the overarching seasonal story.
- Budget & Vendor Management: Manage marketing budget, identify efficiencies, and oversee relationships with agencies, freelancers, and other partners.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior team members and foster collaboration, communication, and alignment across the broader organization.
What we are looking for Skills & Requirements:
- Marketing, communications, business, or similar bachelor's degree preferred
- 8+ years experience in brand or integrated marketing, ideally in omnichannel retail, fashion, beauty, or consumer lifestyle.
- Proven experience owning a marketing brief process and leading cross-functional campaign execution.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex strategies into clear, actionable briefs and summaries.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative leader who inspires alignment across diverse teams.
- Experience working across both digital and physical retail environments.
- Experience leading, managing and developing a team.
