Position Overview

Freedom Capital Markets (FCM) seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Director of Human Resources and Recruiting to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong initiative and be able to work under pressure. You will also create strategies, including communication of our employee value proposition and building a pipeline of quality candidates across departments aliging with the organization s core values and vision. The candidate will perform full-cycle recruitment activities that help develop candidate pipelines. This role will also seek to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of recruitment, including elements that impact candidate experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Human Resources strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy, including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; program and policy administration; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and training and development.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance organizational culture, employee engagement, and performance.
  • Assist HR team members with employee recognition events and employee relations activities and support other departmental projects.
  • Track and provide KPI data to department and executive leadership.
  • Provide information to the HR team regarding market conditions, candidate availability, and salary benchmarks.
  • Develop detailed recruiting plans for full-time and intern hires; create plans with clearly defined objectives, desired outcomes, and sourcing strategies.
  • Prepare and coordinate recruiting advertisements for open positions utilizing an applicant tracking system and developing recruiting plans.
  • Attract suitable candidates through databases, online employment forums, social media, etc.
  • Conduct high-volume pre-screening interviews as appropriate, scheduling and participating in on-site interviews with tight deadlines.
  • Evaluate the candidate's job experience, education, skills, training, and organizational fit using various assessment and interview tools.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues; managing the recruitment and selection process.
  • Work closely with the corporate team Director in assisting with the new hire process, from recruiting to interviewing to pre-hire testing to offer letters, and ensure all records are retained as required by law.
  • Collaborate closely with the corporate team Director throughout the recruiting process to ensure we meet their hiring needs and goals and support the new hire orientation program, offering suggestions for improvements.
  • Develop and maintain all job descriptions to comply with applicable laws.
  • Maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations concerning all employment-related activities.
  • Partner with local high schools, colleges, and universities to coordinate attendance in speaking events, career fairs, and campus recruiting efforts for prospective employment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of full life cycle recruiting experience within corporate recruiting function or executive search.
  • Experience in a full cycle recruitment role, from direct sourcing, screening, assessing/ interviewing, and offering candidates, either in an in-house, agency, or RPO environment
  • A strong understanding of labor laws, regulations, and practices is also essential.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build strong relationships at different organizational levels.
  • Prior experience with applicant tracking systems.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.

Reporting Relationships

The Director of Human Resources and Recruiting reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Travel

The successful candidate must be able to travel to internal and client meetings, corporate preparation sessions, and industry events and conferences.

Location

New York Hybrid

The successful candidate is preferred to be geographically accessible to our New York office. However, there is the flexibility that this individual could work some of the time from a home office situation.

Compensation

An attractive compensation package will be designed to attract the genuinely exceptional candidate to this critically important position. The package will be offered based on background and experience.

Salary: $100K-$125K Base / Bonus Eligible
