Base pay range

$250,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr

Director, HR Technology – USA | Global Financial Institution - Workday

Total comp $350-400k+

A globally recognized financial institution is seeking a director-level Workday leader to take ownership of its U.S. Workday platform and help define the future of HR technology across the enterprise. This role requires an experienced professional with deep expertise across all major Workday modules, and the ability to drive strategy, influence stakeholders, and lead delivery at scale.

This senior appointment will lead the regional Workday platform, aligning U.S. operations with a broader global transformation agenda. The successful candidate will work closely with HR, technology, and executive leadership to ensure the platform delivers enterprise value, operational excellence, and a world-class employee experience.

Although workday is a focus currently, we are looking for someone who sits across all HR platforms and is able to lead the transformation of the strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the strategic direction and execution of Workday across the U.S., spanning HCM, Compensation, Talent, Absence, Time Tracking, Recruiting, Learning, and Payroll integrations.

Strategic Partnering:

  • Act as a bridge between HR strategy and enterprise technology. Collaborate with HR leadership, product owners, and technical teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
  • Define and maintain the regional Workday roadmap in alignment with global objectives. Introduce innovation, automation, and process optimization opportunities across all modules.

Delivery Oversight:

  • Lead platform enhancements, upgrades, and major initiatives. Oversee continuous improvement efforts including testing, change management, and release planning.

Governance & Compliance:

  • Ensure data integrity, system governance, and compliance with regulatory standards. Partner with Risk, Legal, and IT teams to manage audit and security requirements.
  • Lead a regional team of Workday specialists and manage a matrixed pool of global resources. Drive performance, engagement, and capability development across the group.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Influence senior stakeholders across HR, Finance, and Technology. Serve as the face of the Workday platform for regional leaders and represent the U.S. in global steering forums.

Workday Community Engagement:

  • Remain deeply connected to the Workday ecosystem — including Rising events, user groups, and product updates — to bring innovation and insights back to the organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in HR technology, including broad functional and technical experience across all core Workday modules
  • Proven success leading Workday strategy and operations at an enterprise level
  • Strong understanding of Workday architecture, integrations, and platform governance
  • Experience managing large-scale deployments or transformations within complex, regulated environments (e.g. financial services, healthcare, global corporates)
  • Executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and governance bodies
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience overseeing both direct and matrixed teams
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution capability and analytical mindset
