Role OverviewThe Director, Hospital Environment of Care is responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of employees in the overall maintenance and upkeep of building, grounds, and equipment including, but not limited to, the electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other related systems. The Director of Environment of Care also ensures that the facility and all related buildings and equipment are installed and maintained in accordance with Joint Commission standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulatory and usage requirements. This position coordinates and conducts the Environment of Care/Safety meetings and serves as the facility Safety Officer ensuring compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesQualified candidates for Director of Environment of Care should have the following:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: 3 to 5 years' experience in maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment. Minimum of 2 years' managerial experience preferred. Knowledge of The Joint Commission, OSHA, and other government, state of Texas and local regulatory agencies standards strongly preferred.
Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting strongly preferred.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of training in BLS and Handle with Care within 30 days of employment.
