Our portfolio spans a broad spectrum of public and private asset classes, and we are committed to expanding our capabilities and our toolkit in furtherance of our mission.Position OverviewThe Director, Head of Investment Innovation and Integration is a senior leadership role within Liberty Mutual Investments' Global Liquid Markets (GLM) team. Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Investment Innovation, Integration and Trading, this individual leads a four-person team dedicated to enhancing the scalability, adaptability, and effectiveness of GLM's investment processes.The Director serves as a catalyst for innovation—embedding quantitative rigor, institutional insight, and modern workflow design into the core of GLM's platform. By collaborating across functions and fostering a culture of curiosity and experimentation, this leader enables more dynamic decision-making, improved investment outcomes, and greater organizational agility.This is first and foremost an investor role. The ideal candidate brings deep capital markets expertise and a strong grasp of investment dynamics across fixed income and macro strategies. They will be able to pair investment insight with innovation execution, ensuring all solutions are grounded in a clear understanding of alpha generation, portfolio construction, and risk-taking behavior.Success in this role requires a proven investor who can operate at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and technology—capable of guiding and executing strategic initiatives across a complex, cross-functional environment.Core ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Platform Leadership

• Define and lead a strategic roadmap that advances how investment decisions are made, supported, and scaled across GLM.
• Identify and lead high-impact opportunities to modernize workflows and strengthen alpha generation across fixed income and macro strategies, ensuring alignment with the evolving needs of the platform.
• Design and evolve an advanced performance diagnostic platform to better understand investment strengths and weaknesses, promote transparency, and fuel a cycle of continuous improvement.
• Partner across GLM and LMI to integrate innovative thinking into strategic planning, leveraging both internal insights and external best practices.

Execution & Integration

• Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve strategy formation, signal processing, and operational workflows—including both tactical, team-developed tools and enterprise-scale applications developed in collaboration with LMI Product and Technology.
• Drive the adoption of robust analytics platforms, modern data infrastructure, and Python-based tooling to support repeatable, scalable investment execution.
• Ensure initiatives are operationalized across the investment platform and embedded into daily decision-making.

Talent, Influence & Collaboration

• Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity, continuous learning, and applied experimentation.
• Act as a key strategic partner to Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Analysts, ensuring innovation efforts align with GLM's strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with leaders across LMI Product and Technology to evolve the firm's product development model, ensuring greater alignment between investment needs and enterprise technology capabilities.
• Represent GLM externally with industry peers, research partners, and technology providers to ensure Liberty remains at the forefront of investment innovation.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in capital markets, investment strategy, or quantitative finance, with a track record of leading innovation in institutional investment environments.
• Deep expertise in fixed income or macro strategies, portfolio construction, and applied quantitative methods.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver technology-driven investment solutions.
• Proficiency in investment analytics, data architecture, and programming tools such as Python, SQL, Dash, and Power BI.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certification (e.g., MBA, CFA, CAIA) strongly preferred.
