Director, Global IT Planning & Execution
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Global IT Planning & Execution to drive and oversee Global Technology Services (GTS) strategy, planning, budgeting, and prioritization across our global organization. This high-impact role will be instrumental in aligning IT resources and investments with business goals, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, corporate systems, digital assets, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), integrations, and long-term cost optimization.
In this role, you will partner with executive leadership to shape the technological direction of our business, ensuring IT supports operational growth and operational excellence across all regions. This senior leadership role requires a dynamic, results-driven leader with a deep understanding of global IT operations, financial stewardship, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Prioritization, Roadmap, & Portfolio Management:- Collaborate internally within Global Technology Services (GTS) and other IT peers (eg. Technology Delivery, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Automation and Integrated Solutions), to define an integrated GTS strategy, long term delivery plan and drive execution of the global GTS roadmap.
- Represent the GTS strategy and roadmap to other IT teams to ensure alignment with other IT strategies/roadmaps, identify any conflicts and proactively manage dependencies.
- Create and maintain holistic IT capability delivery views to enable technology Regional Leads to represent overall IT activities to their Regional business counterparts.
- Track all high level dependencies across all IT initiatives to identify any conflicts and manage dependencies so that they can be mitigated proactively.
- Lead the prioritization process for GTS projects, balancing competing demands and resources across the enterprise, ensuring that critical projects are prioritized effectively and delivered on time and on budget.
- Oversee the development of multi-year roadmaps and ensure that major projects align with both short-term business needs and long-term strategic goals.
- Guide and mentor a global team of IT leaders in managing the IT project portfolio and ensuring the successful delivery of key IT initiatives.
Strategic IT Budget Management & Financial Stewardship:- Lead the development, execution, and oversight of the global GTS budget, incl both capital and expense, aligning it with the company's strategic objectives, growth targets and GTS priorities.
- Own and drive the GTS financial planning process, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently across the global GTS portfolio.
- Manage ongoing expenditures across GTS to ensure adherence to GTS budget and forecast expectations.
- Provide financial expertise and support to senior leadership, identifying and managing cost optimization opportunities while delivering high-quality IT services.
- Forecast and manage both capital and operational GTS budgets, ensuring that financial resources are utilized to maximize ROI for global projects and investments.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) & IT Integration Strategy:- Lead Lineage IT M&A integration from Strategy to Execution which includes the following:
- Provide executive oversight to the IT integration process and serve as a strategic advisor to M&A teams, guiding them through IT system assessments, risk mitigation, and alignment with overall business objectives.
- Define standardized processes and tools to reduce the time and cost to integrate into Lineage systems.
- Spearhead the IT integration strategy for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
- Partner with the corporate development team to assess IT implications during due diligence and support post-acquisition integration efforts.
- Post acquisition, responsible for successful execution, including determining transition timing and securing appropriate resources.
- Drive structured and continuous improvement approach to IT systems consolidation, data migration, and technology unification.
Global IT Governance, Compliance, & Risk Management:- Establish and oversee global IT governance frameworks (eg. SOX, SOC2), policies, and processes.
- Develop and manage risk mitigation strategies to address potential IT risks.
- Ensure that the IT strategy remains resilient to evolving business, technological, and regulatory challenges.
Executive Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:- Work closely with the executive team to provide insight and direction on IT investment, cost management, and alignment with overall business goals.
- Foster collaboration across business units.
- Build and nurture relationships with global IT teams.
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of senior IT leaders.
Technology Innovation & Continuous Improvement:- Stay ahead of emerging technologies.
- Coordinate with senior IT leadership to drive innovation within the IT organization.
- Provide and execute innovation technology prioritization and evaluation frameworks.
- Continuously assess and refine IT processes and workflows.
Stakeholder Reporting & Strategic Communication:- Coordinate executive-level reporting to the Board of Directors, executive team and regional leaders.
- Prepare and present business cases and financial analyses for major IT projects.
- Serve as the conduit for IT strategy within the organization.
Key Requirements:
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is strongly preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Six Sigma, or similar) are advantageous.Experience:- 12+ years of senior leadership experience in IT planning, budgeting, and strategy.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale IT budgets.
- Extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions.
- Strong background in global IT governance, compliance, risk management, and systems integration.
- Experience in the logistics, supply chain, or transportation sectors is a plus.
