ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee general building maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing, minor repairs, and electrical work.
- Ensure preventative maintenance is completed on all equipment.
- Maintain the facility in a sanitary, attractive, safe, and orderly condition, complying with all regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards (e.g., NFPA, OSHA) and accreditation requirements (e.g., CMS, TJC).
- Manage staff including hiring, development, training, performance management, and communication to ensure effective department operation.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of water systems, emergency electrical systems, sewage systems, primary electrical systems, telephone systems, fire alarm systems, and heating and cooling systems.
- Develop maintenance plans, schedules, and recommendations for projects.
- Serve as project manager for small-scale, short-duration projects.
- Respond promptly to fire and disaster situations and assist according to emergency plans.
- Coordinate outside vendors/contractors and maintenance staff to complete projects.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business or a technical field preferred.
- Five or more years of healthcare experience involving construction/maintenance preferred.
- Ten or more years of construction/maintenance/healthcare supervisory experience preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid state driver's license where required.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training provided upon hire).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility.
- Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification preferred.
