Responsibilities
This position is responsible for oversight of facility operations of large multi-site hospital and/or health center locations. Responsibilities may include additional departmental oversight including Plant Operations, Environmental Services, Security, Real Estate Services, and Environmental Safety. Responsibilities include project management / oversight of minor construction/building renovation projects and other duties as assigned. This position is responsible for Program Quality Evaluation (PQE), departmental financial performance, personnel recruitment, staff training and development, customer satisfaction program improvements, and personal growth for all locations. This position may include any combination of the following responsibilities:
Manages multiple acute care facilities totaling greater than 500,000 square feet, greater than 250 licensed beds, and/or non-acute care buildingsResponsible for multiple supervisors and/or departments, Environmental Services, Dietary, Transportation, Laundry, Security, etc.May serve as the Life Safety Officer over multiple facilitiesThe Director, Facility Management carries out his/her duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the best interest of CommonSpirit Health and fully supports its Mission, Philosophy, and Core Values.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage operations of facility management through monthly department meetings, timely reporting, regulatory compliance, and KPI maintenance.
- Develop and oversee capital and operational budgets, ensuring proper use of resources.
- Ensure financial performance by meeting expense budgets and cost targets, managing procurement and vendor relations.
- Ensure maintenance procedures meet all applicable codes, standards, and equipment requirements.
- Recruit, train, and develop staff; conduct performance evaluations.
- Develop communication plans with staff, leadership, and customers; ensure timely delivery of reports.
- Oversee the annual PQE process, compliance with licensing and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, The Joint Commission, DNV, CMS, etc.).
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance procedures to meet standards.
- Maintain preventative and corrective maintenance rates at or above targets.
- Manage customer satisfaction surveys annually.
- Build positive relationships with hospital administration and stakeholders.
- Support team development and professional growth initiatives.
- Network with peers for innovative ideas and sourcing information.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives supporting operational excellence and financial stewardship.
- Support construction activities, including advising on the Master Facility Plan.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership, with at least 4 years in hospital maintenance/medical equipment operations management.
- Professional designations/licenses (e.g., CHFM, CHC, PE) preferred.
- Construction, safety, and security experience preferred.
- Strong financial and operational management skills.
- Effective communication skills.

Pay Range
$59.53 - $86.32 per hour
