This is a hybrid role with the expectation to work from our New York office 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Identify new in-person opportunities to enhance brand presence, drive engagement, and generate leads.
  • Connect brand partnership dollars to industry icons within OpenTable events and other merchandise moments.
  • Build digital platform for brand moments: Leverage programs like Notes from the Table and All on the Line webinar series to bring bold voices in the industry together both digitally and in person.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of event professionals; foster a culture of excellence and collaboration; oversee team structure and professional development.
  • B2C Event Management: Plan and execute engaging events for OpenTable diners that enhance brand loyalty and platform usage.
  • B2B Event Management: Oversee events for restaurant partners (industry conferences, webinars, workshops, product launches, hospitality summits) to support acquisition, retention, and product adoption.
  • Partner Event Management: Develop joint initiatives with key technology providers and partners to expand reach and deliver shared outcomes.
  • Budget Management & ROI: Own the global events budget, define KPIs and measurement frameworks, track attribution, and communicate impact.
  • Vendor & Agency Management: Source and manage external vendors, agencies, and venues; represent the brand with prospects and customer restaurants.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Sales/Account Management, Product, PR, and Legal; report to executive leadership on strategy and performance.
  • Brand & Messaging Consistency: Ensure event activities reflect OpenTable's brand identity and messaging.
  • Industry Trends & Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and explore innovative approaches to event effectiveness and attendee experience.
  • Problem Solving & Adaptability: Navigate complex challenges and adapt to changing circumstances.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years in event marketing with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing global or multi-faceted events.
  • Proven track record in planning, executing, and measuring a range of events (large conferences, experiential activations, B2B summits, partner events).
  • Ability to pitch strategies to brands and co-create experiences; collaborate with industry icons and sell events/activations.
  • Experience managing both B2C and B2B event portfolios.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills; ability to motivate and develop talent.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing significant event budgets and ROI focus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate ideas to diverse audiences including executives.
  • Experience managing up and providing strategic updates to senior leaders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
