Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County's safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments, and more than 20 health centers.

In collaboration with the System Facilities Operations VP and Management, the Director leads, promotes, and participates in developing and implementing Environmental Health and Safety standards across The MetroHealth System. The role includes leading the organizational accreditation readiness program and activities related to the Environment of Care (EOC). Serves as a resource for accreditation and regulatory requirements from agencies such as The Joint Commission (TJC), Ohio EPA, and others. Partners with stakeholders on performance improvement projects and manages assigned personnel.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and education.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in environmental health and safety, including 2 years in healthcare and TJC accreditation.
• Certifications such as CSP, CHSP, CHFM, or similar healthcare safety certifications.
• Knowledge of regulatory agencies like EPA, DOT, OSHA, TJC, NFPA, BUSTR, RCRA.
• Strong management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Critical thinking, analytical skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Willingness and ability to travel between facilities with reliable transportation.
• Effective interaction with diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:

• Master's Degree in a related field, HAZWOPER certification, DOT, and RCRA hazardous waste training.
