About Us
We're a fast-growing startup with proven Founders and team on a mission to help mid to large enterprises unlock the full value of their data through data monetization initiatives. Our platform and services empower organizations to transform raw data assets into actionable, revenue-generating products - whether by building internal data products, launching new data-driven services, or licensing data to external partners. We sit at the intersection of technology, strategy, and innovation bringing structure, speed, and scale to the complex process of data monetization.
The Role
We are seeking a Director of Data Products to join our Solutions & Services team and own the full lifecycle of client data products for Fortune 500 companies — from initial asset evaluation and product design through build, commercialization, and ongoing innovation. This individual will be responsible for deeply understanding client data assets and use cases, translating them into schemas, transformation logic, and integration requirements that meet market demand. They will perform hands-on technical validation work such as running queries and reviewing implementation outputs, ensuring accuracy and product readiness. The Director of Data Products will also define and evolve client data product roadmaps, gather and prioritize enhancements, and partner closely with analytics and engineering teams to deliver high-quality products. Beyond delivery, this role will support buyer-facing conversations, enhance product marketing documentation, and train clients on positioning strategies, ensuring products not only launch successfully but also continue to grow in adoption, revenue, and market relevance. This role reports directly to the VP of Solutions & Services and will be a close partner in driving value through our client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Design & Technical Validation
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for data product methodology, transformation, enrichment, and index design, reinforcing FirstParty's design approach and articulating its value to clients.
- Translate client needs and data assessment findings into conceptual data product designs, including schema definition, data transformation logic, and integration requirements.
- Define key requirements for data feeds and other productized data offerings, ensuring alignment with customer workflows and market demand.
- Perform hands-on technical data work, including running queries, validating transformation logic, and reviewing the output of implementation teams to ensure accuracy and alignment with product requirements.
- Product Lifecycle Management & Roadmap
- Rapidly gain an in-depth understanding of existing client data products, including product design decisions, data behaviors, strengths and weaknesses, and alignment to specific use cases.
- Gather client and end-user feedback on existing products, build and maintain a backlog of feature enhancements and improvements, and work with leadership to scope prioritization and determine whether efforts fall under maintenance services or new proposals.
- Inform and drive client product roadmaps, advising on feature enhancements, prioritization, and ongoing opportunities to increase product value.
- Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory considerations, and market trends in data monetization to guide both internal design decisions and client recommendations.
- Partner with clients to understand the scope, value, and potential applications of their data assets in the market, aligning product work with clients' revenue goals.
- Support all buyer-facing end-user questions related to methodology, product decisions, and workflow integration, while enhancing product marketing documentation to improve positioning and adoption.
- Train clients on how to position and market their data products effectively as they go to market.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery
- Collaborate with internal analytics teams to assess data behaviors, structures, and enrichment opportunities, and actively contribute to client diligence, use case validation, and product design engagements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth handoff from design to build, providing specifications and ongoing guidance during implementation.
- Collaborate with the VP of Solutions and Services to align data product development with engagement delivery milestones, coordinate client communications, identify reusable patterns for platform evolution, and ensure product decisions support both immediate client needs and long-term scalability objectives.
