Position: Director & Counsel, U.S. Tax Planning, TD Bank, New York. Specific business/product groups: TD Bank Group Reports to: T. Daris Isbell, VP, Head of U.S. Tax. Position Summary The Director & Counsel, U.S. Tax Planning is responsible for: End-to-end tax planning across the organization, from initial structuring to implementation. Providing U.S. federal tax advice to partners in both the Wholesale and Retail business segments, including in areas such as section 265, section 871(m), tax treaties, structured notes, BEAT, Pillar 2, REIT compliance, branch taxation issues. Providing tax advice with respect to new financial products and business activities Drafting file memos and documenting tax positions for audit preparedness Providing tax counsel to the corporate tax compliance and tax audit functions. Monitoring and assessing the impact of new and proposed legislation, regulatory activity, and tax guidance.
