A little bit about our team:

The Corporate Finance Department at WMG is responsible for overseeing all of the financial operations of the Company in partnership with the labels and individual companies within WMG. The department provides financial reporting, accounting, planning, budgeting and financial compliance and auditing for the Company.

Your role:

The Director of Corporate Finance is a strategic partner to the global technology organization (leadership is NY based) and is responsible for overseeing the development of annual budgets and forecast updates in partnership with technology leadership team, developing project budgets and tracking spend and analyzing variance to forecast and budget. This role will also be responsible for the cost benefit analysis of tech project investments and assist with acquiring approval and ensure successful delivery of projects on budget. This finance lead will actively handle costs by challenging spend requests and identify other opportunities to reduce spend.

Here you'll get to:

  • Be a strategic finance partner to the global technology leadership team
  • Lead all aspects of in the preparation and review of Global Technology's annual operating budget and monthly forecast packages, providing analysis of variances v. budget, prior forecast and prior year;
  • Be responsible for monthly reporting and analysis packings for Global Technology as well as assisting the Tech leadership team in controlling and planning their expenses in preparation of their annual budget and quarterly forecasts;
  • Coordinate the collection, consolidation, and analysis of the Global tech deals and process to lead all technology Capex spend globally.
  • Work closely with Global tech leaders to collect and compile data and statistics to understand their business operations and results;
  • Work to continuously improve the financial processes, including around forecasting and budgeting, and partner with the SSC to improve invoice processing, monthly accruals, software capitalization, PO coding, to reduce manual tasks and improve financial accuracy
  • Acquire data and analyze finances to aid in crucial business decisions and relay the information to senior leadership;
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models, such as long-range plans, as well as tools for monitoring business performance and forecasting;
  • Track Corporate cash outflow including capex spend for various projects/initiatives; and
  • Perform various ad-hoc reporting and analysis, as needed.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in either Accounting, Business, Finance or Economics
  • 6+ years' work experience
  • 5+ years' Global Tech financial support required
  • Strong Finance & Analytical skills
  • Facilitative style, with prior experience engaging & supporting stakeholders beyond the Finance area
  • Accounting and FP&A experience
  • Technical savvy with a robust change management skillset
  • Ability to perform sophisticated analysis and prepare presentation material
  • Strong verbal communication skills and experience partnering with senior leadership
  • Great teammate with the ability to collaborate across various business divisions

  • Worked in a transformation environment
  • PMO experience and/or PMP certification
  • Media or entertainment experience

This position requires a minimum of four days per week in the office. We value in-office collaboration and believe it's essential for talent development and fostering strong working relationships.

Salary Range: $150,000 to $160,000 Annually

Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs.
