Job Description
The Position
The Director, Clinical Data Analytics is responsible for providing leadership and solutions in clinical, medical, and outcomes research, data warehousing, and visual analytics. This role will play a critical part in shaping data-driven decision-making, supporting clinical research and commercial teams, and enhancing patient outcomes through sophisticated data strategies.
Responsibilities
Participate in the development and execution of a comprehensive data analytics strategy aligned with business goals to deliver a centralized analytics framework.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including drug safety, clinical research, data management, biostatistics, and statistical programming to understand and address analytical needs.
AI/ML:
Partner with clinicians, biostatisticians, programmers, and analysts to identify areas of need to facilitate automation and efficiencies.
Implement and maintain applications and solutions using LLMs and AI agents.
Enable robust AI/ML workflows by preparing training and inference datasets, collaborating with data scientists and statisticians to fine-tune model inputs and outputs, and automating model deployment and versioning pipeline.
Data Warehouse Implementation/Governance:
Lead the architecture, implementation, and governance of clinical data warehouse/data lake solution, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and scalability.
Oversee data integration from multiple sources including clinical trial data, claims data, and third-party databases.
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and serving large datasets across structured and unstructured sources.
Visual Analytics and Reporting:
Develop, implement, and maintain clinical data visualization applications using R Shiny and Python.
Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making.
Ensure data governance, integrity, and compliance through well-documented architecture and security practices.
Drive performance tuning, system monitoring, and debugging across the full data infrastructure stack.
Manage, develop, and mentor a high-performing analytics team to foster innovation and collaboration.
Provide guidance and development opportunities for analysts, data scientists, and data engineers.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Minimum 10 years of clinical data analytics experience in CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, or computer science. Master's degree preferred.
Strong proficiency in building R Shiny dashboards and statistical software R and python.
Proven experience designing and deploying data lake architectures using warehouse technologies (e.g., Snowflake).
Familiarity with AI/ML model workflows and supporting data infrastructure.
Experience in Agile development and cross-functional collaboration.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
Proficient in stakeholder management.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
