Royal Caribbean Group's Finance Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Director, Capital Planning reporting to the VP, Corporate and Capital Planning.
This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida
Position Summary :
In this position, you would be responsible for overseeing the company's capital planning process,forecasting,strategy,capital allocation processacross the enterprise to ensureoptimaluse of financial resources in alignment with company's strategic objectives. This role oversees the planning, analysis, prioritization, and underwriting ofnon-newbuildcapital investments, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership(including Capital Committee,CFO, CEO and Executive Committee, and Operating Committee).You would drive portfolio decision-making,establishinvestment governance, and develop frameworks for strategic allocation of capital to maximize long-term value creation. Key responsibilities includeshort-term andlonger-termcapitalassetallocation andforecasting(ranging from $2B+), working with senior leadership to prioritize investments based on necessity, returns, and corporate strategy. You would calculate portfolio and project level returns to ensure the company's capital expenditures align with corporate strategy and return profile expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
· Overseecapital allocation across the enterprise to ensureoptimaluse of financial resources in alignment with company's strategicand financialobjectives, including creatingrobust capital allocation frameworks to evaluate and prioritize projects based onfinancial andstrategic fit.
· Develop and manage multi-year capital investment plans in coordination with business units and executive leadership, including overseeing the annual forecast, plan (Annual Operating Plan) and strategic plan (5 year) for Capital Expenditures (ranging from$2 billion+), depreciation expense ($1.6B+ annually), and capitalized interest, including reporting and variance analysis
· Review,updateandoversee internalcapital governance policies and processes, including review and approval hierarchies, oversight and management ofthe Capital Committee, diligenceof and underwriting ofbusinesscases, projectKPIs,validatingfinancial return sensitivities
· Develop and provideinsights and recommendationson capital investment strategy prioritizationthrough presentations to theCapitalCommittee,senior leadership (CFO, CEO)
· Work directly with executives and senior department leaders across the organization to assess the financial and operational viability of projects and influence corporate capital expenditures
· Manageandoptimizethe capital project portfolio, including tracking performance, rebalancing based on business conditions, and reallocating funds as needed, while supporting scenario planning
· Monitor and track performance of approved projects to ensure they are on budget andachievingforecasted returnsand deliverregular reporting packages and dashboards for executive and board-level stakeholders.
· Partnerwith OracleCapital Projectleaderand Finance transformation teams to support redesignofend-to-end capital processand go-live/change management ofOracle Enterprise PlanningManagementsystem(Projects Module), including guiding Capital Planning team and internal stakeholders throughsignificant changemanagement
· Efficiently manages multiple demands and competing projects
· Lead and mentorthe Capital Planning teamresponsible for capital planning and analysiswhile fosteringa high-performance culture with a strong focus on analytical rigor, business partnership, and accountability.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills :
· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA, CPA, CFA, or related advanced degree preferred.
· 10+ years of progressive experience in capital planning, corporate finance, investment analysis, or strategy
· Strong background in financial modeling, capital budgeting, and valuation techniques
· Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
· Proficiencyin Excel, financial planning tools (e.g., Hyperion, Anaplan), and business intelligence software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
· Experience with OracleEnterprise Planning Management tools including PPM modulea plus
· Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing executive-level decisions.
· Analytical rigor combined with consultative approach independently applies structured problem-solving frameworks to define, analyze, and develop alternatives to business problems.
· Strong,demonstratedproficiencyin creating and delivering executive presentations to boards of directors, executive groups, and other senior leaders.
· Proven ability to turn findings into executable plans, i.e., taking an idea from concept through delivery.
· Must have ability to work on projects independently, write executive level reports, facilitate meetings and problemsolvewith groups, while dealing with variety of variables in situations where no standardization exists.
· Possess strong analytic and communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience in presenting complex ideas/concepts to senior-level management.
· Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a bias for action.
· Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with complex data sets.
· Able to thrive in fast-paced, matrixed environments with competing priorities.
· Track recordof driving capital efficiency and delivering high-impact financial insight
