Job Description

The Director, Business Development, will work closely with the BD team and underwriting to develop and execute strategies for profitable growth and enhanced client engagement. This includes analyzing existing clients at the executive level and selectively expanding our client/partner portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business leaders and underwriters to grow respective lines of business
  • Present and sell Crum & Forster's value proposition to targeted program managers, TPAs, reinsurance companies, intermediaries, agents, and brokers, while developing strong partner relationships
  • Identify new business opportunities in markets/verticals like Insurtech, Fintech, Membership Organizations, and Associations, through direct B2B/B2B2C efforts
  • Communicate our insurance products, risk appetite, underwriting guidelines, and submission process clearly to partners
  • Source new leads via LinkedIn, trade associations, conferences, and networking events
  • Coordinate with Marketing to ensure messaging and collateral are current and effective
  • Develop and maintain key relationships within existing clients and partners
  • Educate clients and brokers on our full range of products and services
  • Represent the organization as the main contact with key clients and partners
  • Evaluate new production sources and underwriting opportunities
  • Implement sales and marketing strategies
  • Attend industry conferences, managing follow-up and ROI assessment
  • Coach and oversee Business Development Associates
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in insurance or financial services required
  • 10+ years in accident and health products preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
