The director of the Bulldog Success Center focuses on leadership, strategic planning, and supporting student success initiatives. The role involves overseeing the center's operations, developing and implementing student support programs, and collaborating with other departments to enhance student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision:Direct and supervise staff, including assistant director(s), student success coordinator(s), students, and other support personnel.
Strategic Planning:Develop and maintain short and long-term strategic plans for the center, aligning with institutional goals.
Program Development and Implementation:Design, implement, and assess student success programs and interventions, including scholarship accountability, general advising, scholastic support, social engagement activities, and workshops.
Data Analysis and Reporting:Monitor and analyze data related to student persistence, retention, and graduation rates to inform program improvement.
Collaboration and Communication:Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and student organizations to promote student success and achievement.
Budget Management:Participate in the preparation and administration of assigned budgets for the center.
Professional Development:Provide staff with training and professional development opportunities.
Advocacy and Support:Advocate for students' needs and interests, providing a supportive and engaging environment.
Evaluation and Improvement:Conduct ongoing research and evaluation of best practices to enhance the effectiveness of the center's programs and services.
Compliance and Regulations:Maintain knowledge of relevant federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures.
Other Duties as Assigned:May include assisting with student conduct, student activities, or other related areas.
Skills and Qualifications:
A master's degree is preferred in higher education, student affairs, or a related field.
Three to five years of proven leadership and supervisory (management) experience in a higher education setting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills .
Three - five years of experience in program development, implementation, and assessment .
Knowledge of student success initiatives and best practices .
Ability to analyze data and use it to inform decision-making .
Familiarity with student information systems and relevant technologies .
Commitment to student success for all learners .
