Job Description
The Director of Ambulatory Operations is responsible for overseeing the operations of designated services and locations within the Ambulatory Enterprise. This role involves planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs, projects, and operations within the assigned areas of responsibility. The position ensures excellence in operational performance and service delivery while fostering the management and professional development of the staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage the operation of ambulatory services across multiple locations, ensuring optimal functionality and alignment with strategic plans, goals, and budgets.
- Build, develop, and maintain processes to support the strategic direction for the assigned area of responsibility.
- Establish operational initiatives to improve safety, quality, cost-efficiency, and access to services.
- Partner with the Chief Ambulatory Executive to set operational goals, implement quality improvement initiatives, and achieve high patient satisfaction ratings.
- Develop and enforce operational standards and policies for service delivery, customer service, and fiscal responsibility.
- Oversee the operations budget for the area, ensuring compliance with fiscal requirements and organizational goals.
- Participate in INTEGRIS Health's strategic planning process, aligning projections with institutional goals.
- Monitor internal and external environments for threats and opportunities, responding proactively with the Chief Ambulatory Executive.
- Ensure compliance with governmental regulations and standards, including The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements.
- Manage and develop staff through hiring, performance evaluations, and addressing disciplinary needs.
- Report to the Chief Ambulatory Executive and oversee assigned projects and service lines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, clinical discipline, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Significant experience leading outpatient service lines is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive management experience in healthcare.
- Knowledge of current healthcare policies and trends.
- Leadership, management, and performance improvement skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
- Effective communication in English (verbal/written).
