Director, AIDA R&D Advanced AI & Data Ecosystem Product Management

This role leads the technical product management function for the AI, Data, and Analytics platform supporting pharmaceutical R&D, building and scaling foundational platform capabilities that power advanced analytics, machine learning, and data science across R&D.

Reporting to the Head of AIDA RD Advanced AI & Data Ecosystem, you will define and execute the platform strategy that supports cross‑R&D solution delivery, aligning with scientific goals, regulatory requirements, and enterprise digital strategy. You will lead a team of product managers and analysts and collaborate with product, data science, and Digital partners to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑performing capabilities.

• Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Advanced AI & Data Ecosystem within AIDA R&D
• Lead and grow a high‑performing team of product managers and analysts
• Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and customer‑centricity
• Partner with R&D, Digital, to align platform product strategy with scientific and business priorities
• Collaborate with AIDA Portfolio and Operations leadership, AIDA R&D AI & Data product leadership, AIDA Platforms leadership, and R&D Platform leadership to connect portfolio and product delivery practices
• Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of the ecosystem from ideation and design to delivery and continuous improvement
• Ensure the ecosystem and its reusable components are designed with user needs, scientific workflows, developer needs, and regulatory constraints in mind
• Champion agile product development practices and iterative delivery models
• Establish and track KPIs to measure ecosystem success, adoption, and impact
• Establish consistency of delivery practices across platform organizations in partnership with leadership
• Serve as primary liaison between solution delivery teams and platform teams to manage reusable capability opportunities
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, and platform teams to ensure timely, high‑quality feature delivery
• Engage with external partners, vendors, and academic collaborators to accelerate innovation
• Model exemplary behavior within the enterprise Product Management community of practice
• Ensure ecosystem adheres to internal governance, data privacy, and regulatory standards
• Promote responsible AI practices including transparency, fairness, and explainability
• Support audit readiness and documentation for ecosystem development processes
• Build and lead a high‑performing team of product managers and analysts
• Foster technical excellence, innovation, and accountability; mentor and grow talent
• Promote cross‑functional collaboration with product, data science, and IT teams
• Optimize team structure and workflows using agile, metrics‑driven processes
• Navigate evolving priorities and scientific complexity while guiding the team
• Contribute to the overall platform strategy and roadmap in partnership with the Head of AIDA R&D Advanced AI & Data Ecosystem
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to future‑proof the ecosystem
• Optimize performance, cost, and scalability across global R&D use cases in partnership with Engineering leadership

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering, or related field

Experience:

• 8+ years in technical project delivery/product management, with at least 3 years in AI, data, analytics products or complex multi‑solution programs
• Proven track record building and operating large‑scale data and ML platforms in scientific or regulated environments
• Experience in pharma, biotech, or healthcare is highly desirable
• Proven success in matrixed organizations with science, data, and technical teams
• Exposure to research, real‑world data, or clinical informatics
• Experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical R&D or translational research
• Familiarity with GxP, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements for R&D data
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with agile methodologies and product lifecycle management
• Demonstrated breadth of diverse leadership experiences, including influencing, coaching, and cross‑functional collaboration
