BackgroundWe're doing search work on behalf of a Vice President of Corporate Development at an Asset-Management-Backed, Life/Annuity Reinsurance entity who's looking for a Director, Actuary to support their Corporate Development group. The title will be Director of Corporate Development. This 12-person Corporate Development team is made up of people who have either a traditional Investment Banking background or who have a deeper actuarial, tax, or finance skill set.

BackgroundWe're doing search work on behalf of a Vice President of Corporate Development at an Asset-Management-Backed, Life/Annuity Reinsurance entity who's looking for a Director, Actuary to support their Corporate Development group. The title will be Director of Corporate Development. This 12-person Corporate Development team is made up of people who have either a traditional Investment Banking background or who have a deeper actuarial, tax, or finance skill set.Because there's a continued need to support the scale up of this carrier, the Director of Corporate Development should have an actuarial skill set from the life/annuity/reinsurance space (ModCo, FWH etc.). The compensation is open depending on the person but based on the meeting/conversation we had with the Head of Corporate Development, the role will come in at a competitive range along with significant bonus. The total comp will likely land in the $300,000 - $325,000 all in range.RoleThe role is certainly appropriate for someone who has supported or can support the underwriting of life/annuity reinsurance transactions; who can use their modeling skills to support a group that looks at 20-30 potential deals a year; and appropriate for someone who would want to be in a highly visible role that impacts the scale up of an organization. Strong career path and internal career options at this large carrier; and an opportunity to be involved in tons of interesting potential structures/transactions. • Experience with asset-intensive insurance pricing and/or accounting/financial reporting/capital modeling
• Understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting
• Experience with actuarial systems, such as MG ALFA, Polysystems or GGY AXIS
• Programming experience such as Python, VBA, R, or SAS
