Title and Summary

Director, Account Management - Small Business and Cross-Product Initiatives

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Account Management to drive efforts in the Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment and cross-product initiatives supporting one of our largest, most strategic financial institution partners. This role will shape and execute initiatives including segment research, innovation engagements, B2B events, and other high-impact efforts tailored to the SMB audience. As our partnership with the bank grows, this leader will also lead strategic product initiatives across portfolios, providing critical leadership to meet business needs.

We're looking for someone who brings a strategic lens to every challenge, can connect the dots across teams, products, and customer needs, and is comfortable with ambiguity. You'll work closely with customers to identify their needs and develop solutions. You will also collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities, shape go-to-market strategies, and drive initiatives from concept to impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow efforts in the SMB segment, including segment research, innovation engagements, B2B hosting events, and other high-impact programs.
  • Drive strategy and execution for new and evolving business opportunities with the bank, offering strategic leadership across key product areas and scaling support for future initiatives.
  • Serve as a key partner in shaping future strategic initiatives to deepen Mastercard's relationship with the bank.
  • Develop and strengthen collaborative relationships with stakeholders to drive alignment and unlock opportunities.
  • Support new product development and go-to-market strategies with flexibility and impact.
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, partnerships, finance, and executive teams to identify opportunities and drive initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Market insights and understanding of portfolio dynamics to identify growth opportunities.
  • Deep knowledge of Mastercard products and solutions, with the ability to demonstrate value propositions.
  • Experience in consultative sales, capable of identifying opportunities and driving sales to meet targets.
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical capabilities, including data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in fast-paced environments.
  • Deep knowledge of the card and payments industry.

Location: NYC or Purchase, NY

Travel required: ~40%

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive base salary, potential for bonuses or commissions, and comprehensive benefits including insurance, paid leave, 401k, wellness programs, and more. Salary ranges: Purchase, NY: $164,000 - $263,000; NYC: $172,000 - $275,000.
