This role will report directly to the President of Ultra Records and can be based in New York or Los Angeles.Ultra Records has been in the forefront of dance and electronic music for over three decades. Over the years, the record label has released music from renowned artists including: deadmau5, Kaskade, Steve Aoki, Kygo, Deorro, Black Coffee, Sofi Tukker, David Guetta, Benny Benassi, Tiesto, Gordo, MK, and many more.David Waxman, the President of Ultra, was previously the head of A&R for over 20 years and responsible for signing many of the iconic artists to the label. He is seeking a bright, well-connected candidate with exceptional ears and extensive genre knowledge to continue Ultra's legacy as the premier home for dance and electronic music artists.Ultra Records has teams in NY, LA, Toronto, London, Paris, Madrid, and more.If you believe you can add value to the A&R team, share your story and apply today!   • Find and acquire electronic and dance recording artists, songs, and producers through demos, recordings, and live performances.
  • Identify new trends in electronic and dance music.
  • Build and maintain relationships with artists and representatives, negotiate deals.
  • Solicit producers and coordinate meetings with artists and producers.
  • Arrange recording sessions.
  • Support other A&R team members with creative input on signed artists.
  • Act as liaison with artists, managers, and internal creative teams.
  • Be a strong negotiator and closer.

    • Who you are:

  • At least 7 years of experience in A&R and artist development within the Electronic and Dance Music genre.
  • Managerial and leadership qualities.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Strong artist relationship skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects.
  • Effective talent relations management.
  • Ability to work across departments and manage budgets.
  • Independent worker and team player.
  • Willing to travel and attend evening showcases as needed.
