Summary

The Director of 340B and Drug Supply Management is MaineHealth's (MH) expert in 340B and drug supply management, serving as the main contact and liaison. This individual oversees a 340B team and is responsible for developing strategies to maximize efficiency and ensure compliance with the federal 340B drug discount program, including oversight of both contract and hospital-based programs. The role involves participating in budget planning, analyzing 340B pricing trends, and assessing the impact of new legislation. The Director aims to improve operational performance, ensure program integrity, and maintain regulatory compliance across all MaineHealth 340B covered entities (excluding affiliates). Additionally, the role supports opportunities for operational and financial improvement in drug supply management.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy preferred. A master's in pharmacy, healthcare administration, business, or finance is preferred.
  • License/Certification:
  • Experience: 3-5 years of health system pharmacy leadership and 3-5 years of 340B program experience in a health system setting are strongly preferred. Completion of PGY2 in Health System Pharmacy Administration is also preferred.
  • Advanced 340B Operations Certificate is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in program planning, development, and management or related work.
  • Knowledge of healthcare accounting, finance, and reimbursement principles is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to produce comprehensive reports and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Effective leadership skills and experience influencing senior organizational levels.
  • Excellent negotiation and facilitation skills for conflict resolution and change management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in standard office software (Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
