Join the Manhattan Psychiatric Center Direct Care Team!

Manhattan Psychiatric Center (MPC) has immediate full-time job opportunities for Direct Care Staff to work as Mental Health Therapy Aides (MHTA). Previous psychiatric experience is not required. All shifts available - Day Shift 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Evening Shift 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM, and Night Shift 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM. Pass days would be during the week.

Direct Care Staff/MHTAs at MPC are an integral part of a multidisciplinary treatment team that helps to support patient health and safety by teaching patients daily living skills and promoting acceptable behaviors and verbal skills.

Direct Care Staff/MHTA at MPC, help support hope and recovery by providing direct care, including:

  • Supporting patient health and safety
  • Assisting individuals with personal care tasks
  • Teaching individuals' daily life skills, like personal hygiene and nutrition
  • Accompanying individuals to treatment, recreational activities, and appointments
  • Observing individuals' responses to treatment and documenting observations.
  • Attending treatment team meetings and sharing observations on progress toward recovery goals
  • Assisting in crisis and emergencies to protect the welfare of individuals, staff, and others.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School or High School Equivalency Diploma.
