Position Summary: The Dining Room Manager oversees daily dining room operations, ensuring an exceptional experience for residents and guests. He/She assists with setup, service, and cleanup while guiding and coaching servers to maintain high standards of service and professionalism.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees daily dining room operations under the direction of the Culinary Services Director.
  • Ensures proper staffing, hiring, and training of servers.
  • Coaches and supports team performance; resolves issues promptly.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and well-stocked dining and snack areas.
  • Delivers an exceptional dining experience for residents, families, and guests.
  • Oversees dining setup, service, and cleanup; communicates menu details to staff.
  • Collaborates with other departments to enhance resident satisfaction.
  • Completes required in-service education and supports sales and marketing efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follows all safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintains hazard-free dining areas and adheres to fire and evacuation protocols.

Communication

  • Communicates effectively and professionally with staff and supervisors.
  • Addresses and escalates concerns as needed.
  • Reports changes in residents' conditions promptly.
  • Participates in leadership meetings to address dining-related needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and work in hot/humid environments.
  • Able to bend, reach, carry trays, and move in confined spaces.
  • Must be in good physical and emotional health.

Miscellaneous

  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
  • May work alternate shifts or extended hours.
  • Subject to exposure to infectious conditions and occasional resident distress.
  • Background check and possible random drug testing required.
