From Day 1, you will play a critical role in designing digital experiences for patients, providers, and staff. You will have significant responsibilities and impact. This is a full-stack design role, but please note that we use vendor software, rather than custom development. This role focuses more on UX research, strategy, and service design across technology and operations workflows, and less on application UX/UI design.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate closely with Product Managers to discover, validate, and prioritize the most impactful user problems to solveConduct user research with patients, staff, providers, and other stakeholdersTranslate insights into actionable opportunities in the problem and solution spaces, using qualitative and quantitative methods, including user interviews, usability testing, surveying, and analysisConduct market and competitor research to identify trends and opportunities to inform design and strategy decisionsExecute Service DesignDevelop and validate personas, journey maps, and touchpointsDevelop service blueprints to understand operations, clinical, and technical systemsDesign ideal and holistic persona experiences across a complex ecosystemWork across various digital products and domains, adapting to diverse project needsReview and Improve UX/UI DesignsReview, customize, or improve digital product designs in collaboration with Product Owners and software vendorsAdvocate for human-centered design throughout the product development processImprove the accessibility of experiences for all users, adhering to best practices and guidelinesCollaborate with stakeholders and improve how we workSeek input and buy-in, inform, and partner with a wide range of multidisciplinary stakeholders across digital, technology, project and program management, operations, clinical, and marketing teamsHelp improve our design processes, systems, and toolingQualificationsBachelors Degree requiredFour or more years of related experienceBackground in analytical and strategic rolesTechnical, design, and data fluency preferredHealthcare knowledge is preferred but not required2 years of direct experience in digital product design or related field strongly preferredDesired QualitiesHigh-Agency: Driven, hard-working, proactive, sense of ownership and personal responsibility, and perseveringCurious: Eager to learn, inquisitive, focused, and engagedAnalytical: Sharp cognitive abilities, including ability to comprehend, analyze data, and solve complex problemsResults-Oriented: Action-oriented, high-standard for quality, effective, and precise attention to detailEffective Communicator: Empathetic listener with strong written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced Social-Emotional Skills: Relationship-driven, positive, collaborative, humble, and patientKey ToolsFigmaMuralUserTestingAtlassian products (e.g., Jira, Confluence)Compensation StatementThe Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
