The position is hybrid working environment with a minimum of 3 days in the office, typically Tuesday through Thursday, with the ability to work from home the remaining workdays. Candidates must be able to travel to plant sites when needed (approx. 6-8 days/month with ability to support longer durations).

Education/Experience/Licensure:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering from an accredited university (required)
• Master of Science or other advanced degree in engineering (preferred)
• EIT (highly preferred) – or ability to obtain EIT within one year of employment (required)
• Previous design experience related to modifications in nuclear (DOE or commercial) plants (preferred)
• Experience working with operating nuclear clients and vendors (preferred)
• Ability to obtain unescorted access at an operating or construction nuclear plant (required)
• Machine design experience (preferred)
• On-site and past unescorted access (highly preferred) or ability to obtain unescorted access at an operating or construction nuclear plant (required)

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development of deliverables for nuclear projects within the Electrical, Controls, and Digital disciplines
• Report to an assigned Project Engineer and act as a Design Engineer for Electrical and I&C projects
• Be responsible for working with other engineers and designers to prepare design change packages for modifications at operating nuclear plants and other associated nuclear facilities
• Be proficient in preparation of engineering change packages (EC's)
• Conduct field walkdowns to determine existing configuration of plant structures, systems, and components
• Perform a broad range of Digital I&C design activities to support development of design change documentation, including modification of system requirements, system network architecture, control logic, and HMI
• Follow a strict adherence to electrical codes and standards
• Generate cyber assessments and component classification in accordance with 10CFR73.54 and NEI 08-09 and ensuring the classification of critical digital assets are documented prior to being presented to client Cyber Security Assessment Teams for review and approval

Successful candidates will:

• Possess the ability to interpret codes and, regulations, and standard practices
• Be able to demonstrate adaptability; must be proficient in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within a nuclear power plant environment
• Have effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing)
• Possess excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers and internal team members under a matrixed organization

A background in commercial nuclear design and developing engineering competencies is required.
