Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing therapeutic diets for patients.
• Prepare and serve meals for staff, visitors, and special functions.
• Maintain inventory and ensure cleanliness and organization within the department.
• Adhere to food safety guidelines and maintain sanitary conditions.

Qualifications:

• Food handlers permit (if required by state or county regulations).
• Training in food preparation for therapeutic diets is desirable.
• Recent experience in institutional cooking and special function cooking is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and retrieve objects regularly.
• Safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push/pull objects weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance.
• Prolonged standing and walking are required.
• Capable of reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

Work Environment:

• Indoor, temperature-controlled, smoke-free environment.
• Occasional outdoor exposure and noteworth of wet surfaces and sharp objects.
• High noise levels may be present and hot/cold temperature extremes may occur.
