Position: Dietary Coder
Location: Durham, NC
Pay: $19 to $21/hour
Experience: Complete a week-long training and pass our client's Dietary Coder certification.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; postsecondary education preferred.
Type: Full-time; Contract
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
Greene Resources is seeking a Dietary Coder to join a growing and dynamic team!
Job Description:
- Receive and prioritize dietary coding assignments from the NHANES Coding Manager, providing daily progress updates.
- Review and verify data for each assigned case, assigning codes manually as needed.
- Maintain high accuracy and consistency in coding standards across records.
- Analyze and resolve data discrepancies using critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Document coding decisions and propose improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with NHANES Coding Manager and coding teammates to address data issues and ensure smooth workflow.
- Participate in Quality Circle meetings to uphold coding standards and ensure accuracy of data collected for research purposes.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and coding tasks.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Organizational skills to manage assigned work to meet deadlines.
- Clear and effective communication skills to address any questions or discrepancies.
- Ethical judgment is required to maintain confidentiality and standards for handling survey data.
- Teamwork mindset to build and maintain positive relationships with coding teammates.
- Familiarity with web-based tools and Windows operating systems.
- A passion for food, diets, or nutrition is beneficial and preferred, as it can enhance understanding of dietary data and improve the accuracy of coding assignments.
